Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics takes pride in its vision of  engaging into  research and imparting education in the field of economics as well as  conducting extension activities with a view to contribute to socio economic welfare and   betterment of the society. In continuation with the legacy of the Institute of serving the society, the Institute has been engaging into various extension and outreach activities conducted independently as well as into  those conducted in collaboration with various government and non government institutions. These are mainly carried out through the Dhanajayrao Gadgil Centre for Sustainable Village Development and  the NSS unit of the Institute. Through these wings, the Institute facilitates developmental activities in the adopted village, organises capacity building workshops and webinars for various sections of the society and various other programmes of social importance.  Through these activities, the Institute  not only  reaches out to the society but also sensitises the students  about their  social responsibilities.
