Special Lecture: World Population Day at Gokhale Institute
Population Research Centre (PRC) at Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics, Pune invites you to the special lectures organized on the occasion of World Population Day on July 11.
The Governing Council of the United Nations Development Programme recommended that 11 July be observed by the International Community as World Population Day (WPD). On 11 July 1987, the world population reached Five Billion.
The main goal behind observing the WPD is to increase awareness about population issues. These issues include family planning, gender equality, poverty, maternal health as well as basic human rights.
